Air Serbia
Air Serbia, the flag carrier airline of Serbia, has announced that it will stick to mid-age aircraft to retain profitability. The acquisition of brand new aircraft is reportedly "not on Air Serbia's radar".
The airline has recently faced financial challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as tough competition in the European market. However, Air Serbia remains committed to providing high-quality services to its passengers, and plans to focus on improving its existing fleet and expanding its route network.
Mid-Age Aircraft for Profitability
Despite the temptation to invest in new aircraft, Air Serbia has decided to stick with its current fleet of mid-age planes. The airline's CEO, Duncan Naysmith, explained that this decision was based on the need to maintain profitability in a highly competitive market.
"We have to be very careful about our investments, and we have to make sure that we are making the right decisions for our business," Naysmith said. "Acquiring new aircraft would be a significant expense, and at the moment, it's not something that we can justify."
Commitment to Quality Services
Despite the challenges faced by the airline industry in recent years, Air Serbia remains committed to providing high-quality services to its passengers. The airline has invested in improving its existing fleet, with upgrades to its cabins and in-flight entertainment systems.
Additionally, Air Serbia has expanded its route network, with new destinations added to its schedule in recent years. The airline currently operates flights to over 40 destinations across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
