Elizabeth Pearce’s family say “our world is shattered” after the 24-year-old was killed in a horrific crash in Perth on Saturday night.
Pearce died when a high-profile obstetrician from one of the city’s wealthiest families allegedly crossed onto the wrong side of Birdwood Pde in Dalkeith and slammed into the Uber she was getting into.

“Our world is shattered,” her family said in a statement.
“Our beautiful, bright girl brought sunshine to our lives and we are now in darkness.
“We ask that you respect our privacy at this heartbreaking time.”

Loved ones left floral tributes and messages for a life “taken too soon” at the scene where she took her last breath.
Pearce studied marine biology at UWA, was a decorated former St Hilda’s student and recently took part in a summer vacation internship with Woodside Energy, where her father works.
Her rideshare driver, 25, was also seriously injured and remains in ICU at Royal Perth Hospital.
Obstetrician Rhys Bellinge, 45, appeared in court via audio link from hospital on Monday charged with manslaughter and dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm in circumstances of aggravation.
Police allege Bellinge, the son of successful businessman and IVF pioneer Bruce Bellinge, was drunk behind the wheel of a blue Jaguar that slammed into a parked Honda Jazz hatchback at about 10.15pm.
He was allegedly almost four times over the alcohol limit and was speeding at 130km/h before the crash.

Bellinge’s obstetrics practice put up a notice to patients on his website, saying that “due to unforeseen circumstances” he would be “unavailable for the time being” and his colleagues at St John of God in Murdoch “are available to support you”.
Bellinge’s father Bruce Bellinge told 7NEWS on Monday that he is “devastated for the poor girl and her family”.
“The grief and pain they must be feeling at this moment must be overwhelming,” he said.
The accused remains in a spinal brace at Sir Charles Gairdner on Monday night and will find out if he will be granted bail on Tuesday.
