The Fusion model didn't get that many complaints about its price, but not much interest either. The Pro model drew in a lot of interest, but the price will have to come down.

Last week’s poll shows that Motorola aimed too high with the pricing of the Edge 50 series. That said, with solid review scores and a good discount, these could become very popular (we have already reviewed the Pro and Ultra models).

Starting with the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, nearly half of voters picked the “it costs too much” option. Maybe they would have felt differently if the phone had the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, but the 8s variant is an issue at €1,000. Many in the comments were posting about how you can get more performance at that price point.

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro was the one that is closest to the sweet spot – it received the most “yes” votes and while the cost is still an issue, it’s not as bad as with the Ultra. The not so great news is that in our review we found that the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 performance isn't on par with other phones in this price range.

Finally, the €400 Motorola Edge 50 Fusion didn’t raise nearly as many concerns about price, but the downside of it is that the specs aren’t all that impressive as well and this model had only a few people interested. More may be swayed by a positive review, but the results will have to be pretty good.

Weekly poll results: the Motorola Edge 50 series is promising but overpriced

Of course, this discussion is based on the launch prices of the Edge 50 series – and Motorola phones rarely hold their prices for long. Motorola itself as well as retailers have offered some great deals on Edge phones over the last couple of years and we think that the 50 series will be no exception.

Then the Pro model will be the one to watch – it’s already €300 cheaper than the Ultra. And luckily for it, there seems to be very few Edge 40 Pros left in stock as that model’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is hard to overlook.
