Australian-born woman killed in Bali landslide identified
Angelina Smith, 47, who is now a US resident, and her partner, Dutch native Luciano Kross, 50, were inside a villa in Jatiluwih village when the landslide surged down.
Their bodies were recovered from the debris after the Thursday morning incident.
"The victims were evacuated from the debris while in sleeping (positions). There were two victims, a man and a woman in one bed," local disaster mitigation agency official I Nyoman Srinadha Giri told news agency AFP.
The Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed the incident, telling 9News.com.au it was providing assistance to the family.
"We send our deepest condolences to the family at this difficult time," a DFAT spokesperson said in a statement.
"Owing to our privacy obligations we are unable to provide further comment."
Both bodies were taken to a hospital in Denpasar, AFP reports.
