It’s a rare moment these days that a celebrity couple would be so bold as to hard launch on a red carpet. However, Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan have heeded our call for a major celeb moment at this year’s Met Gala — stopping atop the stairs for a cheeky photo together.
The fresh new lovers have arrived at the Met Gala as an item. However, they did not make the long journey up the Metropolitan Museum stairs arm in arm. Instead, Barry went first with Sabrina following a short time after.
Although they walked the red carpet separately, there was fortunately a brief moment of pause in front of media at the summit.
In the above clip taken by ELLE US, Sabrina appears to beg someone (her publicist? Her handler? A Met Gala line official?!) to let them share a moment together. And here it is folks…
Sabrina is wearing a fitted black gown with a cloud-like, blue and white lower half. Meanwhile, Barry is wearing a chocolate brown velvet suit, with a top hat and silk pussy bow blouse.
Upon arrival, the couple was first spotted by eagle-eyed viewers hanging out in the holding area with celebrity friends, including Kieran Culkin and Rachel Sennot.
A fashion power duo through-and-through, Sabrina, 24, and Barry, 31, were first rumoured to be dating in September 2023, after they met at Givenchy’s spring/summer runway show.
They were later spied on several dates, and Keoghan was even spotted at an Eras Tour stop, where Carpenter supported Taylor Swift.
The ‘Espresso’ singer’s star continues to rise rapidly, following her turn on Swift’s global tour. Carpenter, who is due to release a new album this year, is also rumoured to be touring Australia again in the near future.
Meanwhile, Keoghan has also enjoyed a successful year, after starring in 2023’s most viral hit, Saltburn.
