Netflix drops 'Happy Gilmore 2′ teaser for Christmas

(CNN) - Netflix is teeing up for the release of the long-awaited sequel of “Happy Gilmore.”

The streaming giant dropped the first teaser for “Happy Gilmore 2″ on Christmas Day.

It comes nearly three decades after the original movie, which became one of Adam Sandler’s most beloved roles.

The sequel sees Julie Bowen back as Happy’s love interest Virginia Venit as well as Christopher McDonald as rival golfer shooter McGavin.

The film also features several newcomers including Bad Bunny, “The Substance” star Margaret Qualley, comedian Nick Swardson, NFL superstar Travis Kelce and rapper Kid Cudi.

“Happy Gilmore 2” will stream exclusively on Netflix next year.
