Greens Urge Shift from Harmony Week to Anti-Racism Week
Deputy Leader of the Australian Greens and spokesperson on Anti-racism Senator Mehreen Faruqi is calling on the Government to replace the tokenistic celebrations of Harmony Week with a more meaningful Anti-Racism Week. This shift would emphasize the importance of actively combating racism and promoting inclusivity, rather than simply paying lip service to the idea of harmony.
By focusing on anti-racism, the government can send a clear message that discrimination and prejudice have no place in Australian society. This change would encourage meaningful conversations and actions to address systemic racism and promote true harmony among all communities.
