Jetstar flight to Bali forced to turnaround due to unruly passenger

A Jetstar flight bound for Bali was forced into a dramatic turnaround after a passenger launched an expletive-laden tirade mid-air.

JQ43 took off at 10:25am on Monday morning, but landed back at Melbourne Airport shortly before 3pm.

Melanie was on the flight and told Jacqui Felgate what happened onboard.

“It was the most eventual flight I’ve been on,” she told 3AW Drive.

Jetstar later on Monday provided a statement to 3AW Drive, which confirmed the flight has been rescheduled for Tuesday morning.

“The Captain decided to return to Melbourne to get assistance from the Australian Federal Police after a passenger became disruptive just under two hours into the flight,” the statement said.
