Kyrie Irving working on eligibility to play for Australia

Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving says he's willing to play for Australia, his camp is in a process of finding a best way of making it happen.
Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving has long been linked to the Australian national basketball team.
Irving, who was born in Australia while his father played professional basketball there in the 1990s, has now revealed that he is actively working on making the switch to represent Australia on the international stage.
Speaking to reporters after the All-Star Game, Kyrie shared his progress on the potential move.
"Man, we're in the process of that right now, just trying to figure out the best route for me to be eligible," he said, as reported by Fox Sports.
He acknowledged the complexities involved, including the necessary paperwork, and noted that the U.S. still has a decision to make regarding his international status.
"Obviously, USA still has a decision to make, but for me, I’m just trying to do what's best," Irving explained.
When asked about his aspirations to play for Australia, Kyrie expressed genuine enthusiasm.
"Honestly, if I can be an Aussie at one point in my career and play for the Australian team, that would be great," Kyrie stated.
