Randy Travis Paid Lainey Wilson the Ultimate Compliment after Her

The country music legend called Lainey "Pure Country" after she shared photos from her Australia concerts.

Lainey Wilson is proving "Country's Cool Again" as she takes her tour Down Under, and the experience is making a serious mark on the Grammy-winning singer. She shared photos from her recent Australia concerts with her fans on social media, along with an emotional message about her journey. Her post got an outpouring of support from her followers, including some very high-profile stars.

Lainey took to Instagram to share photos of rocking out onstage, wearing her trademark Wrangler bellbottoms, a leather vest, black cowboy hat, and layers of turquoise jewelry. The Louisiana native paired the pictures with these words: "Australia, thank y’all taking me down under with y’all. When I decided to write songs as a little girl, I never thought somebody on the other side of the world would be able to relate to my story. I was just a little redneck from Baskin… man was I wrong?! We are all a lot more alike than you think. We all just wanna feel something. ❤️"

Lainey's fans left messages of support, like "There is nobody, nobody like you. So proud of you girl for sticking to your gut" and "Phenomenal show Lainey. Thank you for sharing your stories and being so inspiring!" Australian singer Melanie Dyer said, "So inspiring to watch you crush it last night! ✨????" and Ian Munsick wrote, "Legend."

But the best comment (and highest compliment) came from country music legend Randy Travis, who wrote, "Pure Country."

Randy recently joined Lainey onstage at an Oklahoma concert, and she introduced the country music legend as a "dear friend." She said, "When you have Randy Travis side stage—first of all, that’s a little nerve-wracking. I ain’t going to lie to you. But also, it makes me feel like I can really do this. It makes me feel like I got a place in this industry."
