The second round of LIV Golf Adelaide 2024 is set to officially commence today at Grange, featuring a shotgun start at 11:15am.

The highly anticipated golf tournament will see Australia’s Ripper GC captain Cam Smith and World Golf Hall of Famer Phil Mickelson among the elite line-up of global golfers. The competition is fierce, as players vie for the individual and team championship titles in Adelaide.

The event promises not only the world-class golf, but a lively entertainment scene. DJ Fisher is slated to headline Saturday’s après golf, following a vibrant performance by award-winning Australian artist Tones And I on Friday night. Crowd favourite Australian electronic duo Flight Facilities will contribute to the lively atmosphere on the final day of play on Sunday.

Television coverage of LIV Golf Adelaide will be broadcast LIVE and FREE on the Seven Network.

Established in 2022, LIV Golf is a global sports league highlighting 13 teams and a 14-tournament schedule that hosts the world’s top golfers. The league, with Greg Norman as its first CEO and Commissioner, was established to elevate the sport on a global scale and to realise golf’s ultimate economic and societal potential. With tournaments taking place in North and Latin Americas, Asia, Australia, the Middle East and Europe, LIV Golf is showcasing how fan and player experience can be elevated across the globe.

Premier Peter Malinauskas remarked on the importance of the tournament to South Australia this week, saying “The thing about this event last year, there was an enormous amount of effort from the state government and the LIV team … but ultimately it was fans that brought this event to life. It was people,” he said. And anyone who went along would agree. The atmosphere was electric, and this year has been no different.

Malinauskas noted that Australian golf fans had longed for high-quality professional golf, indicating that there is a whole generation of golf enthusiasts in Australia who had never witnessed elite golf before. “We took a bit of a hunch that people would respond to the opportunity to see the world’s best golfers here in South Australia, and they responded in droves,” he said.

In his view, the key to surpassing last year’s event, which won the title of World’s Best Golf Event, lies in increasing attendance. “What I think will take this event to another level this year is that there are a lot more people here … a lot more passes have been able to be sold as a result of it, and I think that is going to add a whole other level of atmosphere over the course of the three days,” stated Premier Malinauskas.

For those attending today’s event, the schedule includes a fan village opening its gates at 8:30 am. This village will offer various golf-themed experiences for all ages, alongside music, local food, and beverages. The Round 2 event will wrap up at 7pm, when spectactors will decent on the city in droves.
