The NBA All-Star 2024 took place late last night in European time and had some interesting matters to look out for.

In a game where the Eastern Conference beat the Western Conference with a whopping score of 211-186, which marked the first time that the 200-point mark was crossed in an All-Star game, several individual highs also took place.

According to ESPN, Damian Lillard of the Milwaukee Bucks, who was named MVP of the All-Star game with 39 points, 3 rebounds, and 6 assists, became the first person after Michael Jordan to both win game MVP and a Saturday night All-Star event in the same year.

Previously, Lillard had won the three-point shooting contest, a second consecutive win for him in this field.

Another three-point related record was the amount of three-point shots sunk by the Eastern Conference. The Doc Rivers-led team had a staggering 42 three-pointers made during the All-Star game.

Furthermore, Karl-Anthony Towns of the Minnesota Timberwolves broke Jayson Tatum's most points scored in a half of the All-Star game record by having 40 points in just the first half and a total of 50 points in the game.

He was also close to breaking Tatum's record for most points scored in an All-Star game, but he stopped 6 points shy (Tatum had 55 points in 2023).

A final record came from LeBron James, who is now the player with the most All-Star appearances as he moved to 20 total this year, surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's 19.

This year, the NBA moved back to the Eastern Conference versus Western Conference format, which they had dropped in 2018 in favor of a process involving player-led selections.
