Queensland resident wins entire $50 million Oz Lotto jackpot
One lucky Aussie has just become the nation’s newest multi-millionaire after scooping up the entire $50 million Oz Lotto jackpot.
The winning ticket — sold in Queensland — matched all seven numbers in Tuesday night’s draw.
For the past six weeks, no one in Australia has picked the winning seven numbers needed to take home Oz Lotto’s division one prize, which has pushed the jackpot to an eye-watering amount.
The last time Oz Lotto had a prize pool this big was in December last year, with Tuesday night’s winner becoming the third-biggest individual lottery winner in 2024.
The winning numbers were 1, 2, 4, 18, 28, 37, and 47, with supplementary numbers 11, 24, and 27.
The insane win comes less than a week after another Australian resident pocketed $20 million in Thursday night’s Powerball.
The NSW woman broke down in tears after realising her $20,000 lottery win was actually a $20m jackpot.
“I looked at it and then ran to my family and said, ‘I’ve won $20,000!’” the Gladstone resident told officials from The Lott.
“They looked at it and then looked at me and said, ‘No, you haven’t. You’ve won $20 million!’”.
The woman said she would have been happy to have won a $20,000 prize, but she is now “in fairyland” over the life-changing win.
“I still can’t believe it,” she said.
“I keep thinking I’ll wake up, and I’ll be back in reality.”
