Peugeot is rolling out ChatGPT across its car and van line-up while also launching a new, longer warranty for its new E-3008 SUV.

Peugeot has committed to having the widest EV line-up of any European mainstream brand

The announcements were made at the brand’s ‘E-Lion Day’ as it also confirmed the launch of the new E-408 and E-5008 this year as part of its growing electric vehicle line-up.

The AI-based ChatGPT tool will first be made available in five pilot markets, including the UK, before a wider roll-out starting from the second half of 2024. The generative artificial intelligence model will be integrated into the Peugeot i-Cockpit and when accessed via the “OK Peugeot” voice assistant, will be able to answer “countless questions and requests on any type of subject”.

At its ‘E-Lion Day’ event, Peugeot also announced the introduction of its new Allure Care programme for customers of the new E-3008 that lands from February. The warranty covers the electric motor, charger, powertrain and the main electrical and mechanical components for up to eight years / 100,000 miles. It’s automatically activated for two years or 16,000 miles after each maintenance service carried out within the Peugeot network.

Launching in major European markets, it’s provided in addition to the existing battery warranty offered by Peugeot on all its electric vehicles, also lasting eight years/100,000 miles, to cover the entire vehicle. The brand says it’s the first in Europe to offer such extensive coverage on one of its models.

Phil York, marketing and communication director at Peugeot, said: “We believe that Peugeot Allure Care will accelerate the adoption of the latest generation of 100% electric Peugeot vehicles by offering customers the peace of mind they need to take the step. This coverage of exceptional breadth is a testament to the confidence we have in the quality and reliability of our products.”

At the event, Peugeot also committed to having the widest EV line-up of any European mainstream brand, meeting all customer needs, both private and B2B. New arrivals this year include the E-408 and E-5008, giving it nine fully electric passenger vehicles and three light commercial vehicles, on route to the brand’s plans to become the leading brand in the European electric market by 2025.

Linda Jackson, CEO of Peugeot, said: “With the E-Lion project, Peugeot is mobilising all its technological know-how and the creativity of its teams to enable all its customers to access sustainable mobility. As a leader, we want to pave the way. It’s an incredibly rewarding task.”
