Renewables giant Ørsted names new finance chief
Ørsted has selected its new chief financial officer (CFO) ahead of the outgoing Marianne Wiinholt’s planned departure later this year.
The company’s current senior vice president, head of engineering, procurement and construction and operation finance, Daniel Lerup, will take over from 8 April. He has been with the company since 2009.
Wiinholt will remain in office until the annual general meeting in April.
Ørsted’s board of directors’ search for the company’s new CFO included both internal and external candidates.
Thomas Thune Andersen, chairman of the board of directors, said: “Daniel has extensive experience from several corporate finance functions, a strong strategic mindset, and in-depth knowledge of Ørsted’s markets, business and finance.”
Wiinholt announced her resignation in December 2021. During her time as CFO, Ørsted shifted from fossil fuels to renewables and boosted its wind power portfolio to become a market leader.
