Sabrina Carpenter has become an icon in the world of music, finally getting the recognition that she deserves. Although she has been making music ever since she was younger, dating back to her time as a Disney star, she recently entered the mainstream spotlight through singles like Nonsense and Feather, as well as her hit album, Email I Can’t Send.
Like many women in the public eye, her romantic life has also become a matter of interest for her fans. While her relationship with Joshua Bassett was somewhat unconfirmed, her romance with Barry Keoghan has been getting a lot of attention from all directions, with them making public appearances with each other at important events.
Interestingly enough, the singer-songwriter spoke about her relationship with Bassett during a recent interview. More specifically, she talked about the fallout of it.
Sabrina Carpenter Was Heartbroken
Recently, Sabrina Carpenter gave an interview on The Zane Lowe Show, where she talked about her relationship with Joshua Bassett. With rumors having placed the end of their relationship around December 2021, the actress talked about her mental state two years ago.
“I was heartbroken two years ago. I was in a really, really different mental place.” Carpenter mentioned.
It would seem that the actress and singer were going through some very serious turmoil, following an emotional breakup. She even went so far as to say that it was the first time she had experienced something like that.
“For me, that was truly my first heartbreak. And so I think when you’re going through something like that, you question everything about yourself and you take it really personally,”
Referring to it as a “really different mental state,” it would seem that a lot has changed for her since then.
Sabrina Carpenter’s Romance With Barry Keoghan
Since her difficult parting with Bassett, Sabrina Carpenter seems to be in a happy relationship with Saltburn and Eternals star, Barry Keoghan. The pair have been spotted together in public multiple times, with the actor famously being in attendance at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour when Carpenter was doing her last performance. An insider even revealed the inner details of their relationship to US Weekly.
“They really took things slow at first, but the relationship is going strong,” a source told. “They are both very casual people and enjoy being low-key in their downtime. They aren’t putting too much pressure on things, and Sabrina loves that Barry understands she is extremely busy with her work commitments right now.”
The source revealed that the pair are going very strong, understanding the requirements of each other’s profession and supporting them. They even claimed that they were not thinking too much about things and were both very casual people.
