Everything you need to know about Samsung's new high-end phone

Inbuilt into the device casing, the Galaxy houses the new stylus, aka the S-Pen, which sits flush inside the left side of the S22 Ultra.
The pen is removed with a simple press, popping out of the device like the click of a pen.
9News caught up with Samsung's Garry McGregor, Vice President of Mobile Experience, who says the two main things he's excited for Samsung users to experience are the Galaxy's camera and the stylus (aka the S-Pen).
"You've essentially got the best of the S series and the best of the Note series, and the number one feature as to why people love Note, coming together in one. We've almost created this new category that I'm quite sure Australians are going to love." Mr McGregor said.
Mr McGregor told 9News the increase in people working from home played a crucial role in bringing the stylus back into their smartphones, offering a new sense of escapism for the user.
"When you do it right you get that responsive swooshes as though you're writing pencil on paper, it's just a real tactile experience and it was the one thing that people have always loved about Note products and a lot of them were asking if we would ever bring it back and we'd be bring it to S Series, which is what we've done." Mr McGregor told 9News.
Another great feature with the S-Pen is it's bluetooth connectivity to the phone. This isn't exactly a new feature, Samsung's first stylus was introduced back in 2011, but was discontinued alongside the Samsung Galaxy Note.
Given the stylus is essentially an optional accessory, it really has some great uses. You can use the S-Pen as a remote to take phones and videos, to change slides in a digital presentation.
What's new with the camera?
"The S series for Samsung is always where we really have the ultimate camera technology. This one doesn't disappoint.
"We've done a good job of really excelling in data and photography and it makes a very average photographer, like myself, look really, really good with the AI smarts that you have in the camera." Mr McGregor said.
The S22 features two major camera improvements since the S21, notably it's camera zoom and the camera's night vision.
The S22 Ultra features Samsung's largest pixel sensor ever, enabling its camera lenses to take in more light and data, which in turn optimises the detail of video clips and photos.
"We're coining the term at Samsung Nightoraphy. We're social animals, we don't necessarily do everything during the day. So I think it's going to be very interesting to see how people use their smartphone through the camera."
Samsung says users should easily get a full day's battery life from their new Galaxy series devices.
What's in the box?
Not as much as the olden days! Alongside the Samsung Galaxy phone, you'll also find a USB type C cable and all the standard bits and pieces regarding warranty and setup.
Like with most new modern phones, Apple included, gone are the days you'll receive a power brick inside the packaging. Samsung says this is all to do with sustainability.
"As we move on this journey of sustainability, it's very much we find that particularly in S series and flagship products that the power brick doesn't doesn't need to be in there. So you have the type-C cord which is starting to pick up really standardised across the industry." Mr McGregor told 9News.
What does the new S22 Galaxy Ultra cost?
The S22 Galaxy Ultra starts from $1849 for the 128GB model, and retails up to $2,449 for the 1TB model. The new devices are available to pre-order now and will arrive in retailers from March 4.
