Simone left Shane in 2005 following a huge cheating scandal.
She had just moved to England to start a new life with the cricketer and their children when allegations that he had been seeing other woman flooded the newspapers.
So, Simone returned to Australia with their three children just before the 2005 Ashes, left Shane in England and filed for divorce.
However, they stayed close for the children’s sake and grew closer before officially becoming a couple again in 2009.
They then separated for good in 2010 and Shane began dating English actress Elizabeth Hurley not long after.

In January 2022, Shane released an Amazon Prime documentary called Shane which reflects on his life and marriage.
In the hour-long film, he revealed that he sat alone drinking in a hotel room when Simone took their children and left.
“I think that was the lowest. The impact on my children, they wouldn’t get to see me and that was my fault…I would go back and raid the mini bar,” he said.
Simone and their three children also appear in the documentary and all give interviews that reflect on the marriage breakdown.
