The wait is finally over.
After several attempts to get the project off the ground, with a rotating roster of attached directors including Blade's Stephen Norrington, as well as Luke Evans and Javier Guitierrez - the reboot of The Crow some decades in the making now has an official trailer.
The film stars Bill Skarsgard as the indelible antihero, Eric Draven, in a story of supernatural vengeance based on the James O'Barr comic that first debuted in 1989. The film adaptation would eventually land in 1994 with Brandon Lee as the star.
The film would ultimately spark a franchise, becoming a sleeper hit - resonating with counter culture aficionados that took to the movie's dark aesthetic and stellar accompanying soundtracks. The original would also segue into several follow up films with The Crow: City of Angels (1996), The Crow: Salvation (2000) and The Crow: Wicked Prayer (2005) all achieving some notable success - though nothing like the first.
For the 2024 edition, the updated script is helmed by Zach Baylin and Will Schneider and sees Rupert Sanders sitting the director's chair. Among his more notable films include the likes of Ghost In the Shell and Snow White and the Huntsman. In the latest version, Skarsgard takes on the regenerative powers of The Crow to violently avenge the savage murder of his earthly love, Shelly Webster - played convincingly by FKA Twigs.
The film also stars Danny Huston, Laura Birn, Sami Bouajila and Jordan Bolger. See the official trailer for The Crow below which features the Ozzy Osbourne/Post Malone smash, "Take What You Want".
The film lands in theaters on June 7th.
