Tottenham player ratings vs West Ham Brennan Johnson scores ...
Tottenham Hotspur came away with a point from a 1-1 draw at West Ham in the Premier League on Tuesday evening.
Ange Postecoglou had made three changes to the team that overcame Luton Town 2-1 on Saturday at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to bring in fresh legs with just two full recovery days in between the matches. David Moyes' Hammers let a 3-1 lead slip to lose 4-3 at Newcastle at the weekend.
Spurs have not won away at West Ham since November 2019 for Jose Mourinho's first game at the north London club and they came into the game knowing a victory would put the pressure on Aston Villa, who travel to Manchester City on Wednesday. Micky van de Ven came back into the team after being an unused substitute on Saturday, having recovered from his hamstring injury, and replaced Radu Dragusin.
Brennan Johnson also came back into his starting line-up after another impressive showing from the bench against Luton, replacing. Dejan Kulusevski. Rodrigo Bentancur also came in to give Pape Matar Sarr a rest.
It was Johnson who opened the scoring just four minutes in and it was a classic Postecoglou goal. Spurs broke up the pitch and Timo Werner fired a low ball across the six-yard box and the Wales international was in the right position to tap it home for Tottenham's first first-half goal in seven matches.
West Ham found a leveller not long after though when Kurt Zouma headed home a Jarrod Bowen corner.
Both sides huffed and puffed in the second half but neither could find a way through.

Here are our Tottenham player ratings from the match:
Guglielmo Vicario
Pinned in and perhaps needed to try to claim Zouma's close range equaliser or at least helped by his team-mates. Made a flying save from Ward-Prowse's free-kick later in the first half. Saved twice from Antonio and Mavropanos early in the second half before getting down to stop an Antonio one-vs-one effort. 7
Pedro Porro
Some loose moments in possession and struggled to find much quality with his delivery to the attacking players. However, he led the defensive stats with four tackles, three interceptions, three clearances. 7
Cristian Romero
A battling performance without really imposing himself on Antonio. 6
Micky van de Ven
Picked up a first half yellow card for pushing the ball away with his hand after a tackle. Brought his pace to the party but didn't look quite his usual assured self with a couple of trips and slips. 6
Destiny Udogie
Got up and down the left and higher up than Porro but didn't link up with Werner particularly well. Sent a decent late chance at the goalkeeper. 5
Rodrigo Bentancur
Back in the team and involved in Tottenham's first goal. Played a dreadful pass in front of his own area early in the second half which resulted in a West Ham chance for Paqueta. Picked up a yellow card for a lunge before coming off in the 70th minute. 6
Yves Bissouma
Zouma got up above him for West Ham's early equaliser. The rest of his game was much better though before coming off with 10 minutes to go and he mopped up plenty in the Spurs half. 7
James Maddison
Some nice little turns and touches but another game he has struggled to grab by the scruff of the neck as he was doing earlier in the season. 5
Brennan Johnson
Continued his recent form with a close range early goal, getting into the six-yard box to tap in Werner's low delivery. He looked the person most likely to add to create something for Spurs after that with a couple of dangerous balls into the box and driving runs before coming off after taking a knock late on. 7
Son Heung-min
The stats will show he played three key passes, far more than any other Spurs player, but he struggled to get much of the ball in attacking areas where he can do the most damage. 5
Timo Werner
Another assist for the German as he drove a low ball into the danger area in the opening minutes for Johnson to tuck home. However, he didn't make too much of an impact after that, not seeing too much of the ball. Gets an extra point for the early assist. 6
Subs
Pape Matar Sarr
Came on and soon played a dangerous ball across the six-yard box that nobody could touch home. 6
Dejan Kulusevski
Came into the Maddison midfield role but on the right in initially before switching to left and then back to the right late on. Didn't make much of an impact. 5
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg
Came on for the final minutes for Bissouma and gave Spurs a bit more drive. N/A
Richarlison
Spurs needed a focal point but he didn't really provide it late on. N/A
Giovani Lo Celso
Brought on for added time and couldn't find a way through. N/A
