LEGO Fortnite Update Adds Custom Vehicle Builds New Tools and More
Epic Games releases Update 29/10 for LEGO Fortnite, adding the ability to create custom vehicles, use new tool features, and more.

Highlights

  • Epic Games introduces new vehicle builds, custom designs, and crafting tools in LEGO Fortnite update 29.10.
  • Three new vehicle builds have been added, and once unlocked, players can tweak and customize them further.
  • In addition to bug fixes, the update also adds new tools to the Toys section, including a Wrench, Compost Bin, and Illuminator.

Epic Games releases update 29.10 for LEGO Fortnite, bringing new vehicle builds, custom designs, new crafting tools, as well as bug fixes as well. The Mechanical Mayhem update follows suit with another recent LEGO Fortnite patch earlier in March which added Kit Bundles to the experience. Using prebuilt designs, players could essentially purchase new building designs like Beachside Boulevard or Durrr Burger to spruce up their map.

However, following the release, fans became dissatisfied with the pricing structure in the LEGO Fortnite shop. These LEGO kits range between 1,900 and 2,500 V-Bucks, or $16-21 USD, leaving fans frustrated at the costs being, in some cases, more than the price of two battle passes. Either way, even though the builds are entirely optional and don't offer any benefits, players are still hoping to see future builds come with lower costs. For now, Epic Games has released its latest update, adding a highly requested feature for free.

Players can now acquire item bundles and use them in their LEGO Fortnite worlds - here's how it works.

A new blog post from Epic Games reveals that Vehicle Builds are now live within LEGO Fortnite. Three vehicle builds have been added to the game, including the Speeder, Offroader, and Hauler. The vehicle recipes can be unlocked by adding a Power Cell, Flexwood, or Frostpine to the player's inventory. Once the recipe is unlocked, players can further tweak the build from the Vehicle Parts area in the Toys section of the Build Menu. New tools like the Power Center, Wheels, and Seats are available to add to really put a unique spin on whatever vehicle the player is creating. Since LEGO Fortnite is a popular co-op experience, players can add multiples of these items, like seats, to allow their friends to tag along.

In addition to creating custom vehicles, this latest Fortnite update also adds a number of tools players will need to work with in order to keep their vehicles running. The Compost Bin allows players to essentially recycle old or unwanted items, converting them into resources like Biomass, Fertilizer, or Soil. Using a Wrench lets players assign Switches and Thrusters to channels, enabling them to be controlled through separate switches instead of all being on one. The Illuminator, which can be unlocked through a LEGO Fortnite Crafting Bench by adding a Thermal Fish to the inventory, adds new light sources to the world.

For many players, one of the bigger aspects of LEGO Fortnite is the ability to take a traditional skin and essentially make it a LEGO-fied version. With Update 29.10, Epic Games has added a ton of new LEGO Styles for Fortnite players to check out including the likes of Koi Brawler Zero, Championship Jonesy, and many more. However, the latest LEGO Fortnite update key art may have also spoiled an upcoming addition, as Marvel's Drax the Destroyer made a surprising appearance, indicating that a skin for the Guardians of the Galaxy member could be on the way.

SWEET (...AND SPICY?) TREATS

Nothing like dessert after fending off foes. You’ll unlock the recipes for Ice Cream, Snowberry Ice Cream, and Spicy Ice Cream if you add Snow to your inventory and have a Juicer in your world.

MAJOR IMPROVEMENTS, ADJUSTMENTS, AND BUG FIXES

GAMEPLAY

  • New smart transfer feature: transfer all similar items to and from storage.
  • It's easier to visually tell when your constructs take damage.
    • With the new vehicle building features, we had to adjust some durability values. We recommend using higher-rarity resources to strengthen your constructs if any part breaks.
  • Items can be dropped one at a time when a stack is picked up.
  • Pools of fish can be found near new (but somehow already run-down) docks that are alongside lakes and rivers.
  • Made improvements to constructs so they remain stable when entering and exiting caves.
  • Made stabilization fixes for constructs traveling large distances across the world.

OTHER

  • The Stormy Emote will be updated to its full, intended animation in LEGO Fortnite.
