Team selection: Brockman back for Tigers bout

The West Coast Eagles have settled on one change for Sunday’s home battle with Richmond, with a like-for-like swap of Tyler Brockman replacing last round’s debutant Loch Rawlinson.

Classy forward Brockman trained well on Thursday at Optus Stadium following a stint in the concussion protocols and has been immediately recalled.

Emerging midfielder Luke Edwards and mobile forward Ryan Maric have both recovered from injury scares last round against Sydney to also be included on the interchange alongside Campbell Chesser and Callum Jamieson.

Veteran wingman Andrew Gaff and experienced defender Alex Witherden will remain with the WAFL Eagles, unless required as emergencies against the Tigers, following encouraging state league leadership and form recently.

Rawlinson was the second member of West Coast’s 2023 draft class to debut, and showed some spark after coming on as the sub during Gather Round close to where he grew up in the Adelaide Hills.

The 18-year-old small forward will continue honing his craft against reigning WAFL premier East Fremantle on Sunday morning at Mineral Resources Park, with bouncedown at 10am.

West Coast’s round five clash against Richmond begins at 2pm, with the inaugural 1987 team who upset the Tigers in the club’s first match to form a guard of honour for the current day side pre-game.
